Valedictory Week |Annual Valedictory Mug netball competition
This week, the P&F had their last official meeting for 2023, however the committee will continue to work over summer to organise next year's events, including the huge Welcome Back BBQ in February. A date and invitation will be sent out in the first weeks of next year so keep an eye out. Every year we try to do something a little different and next year is no exception. No spoilers, but we are hoping it will be 'magical.'
Carpark Carboot event cancelled
We were very sad to cancel the recent Carport Carboot event. Thank you to those who reached out and supported us with kind words. Cancelling an event is never easy. Unfortunately we were competing with too many other local events on that date. As we are committed to giving the community the best events possible, we decided to postpone.
We are hoping to hold the rescheduled event on Sunday the 21 January from 8.00am for sellers and 8.30am for buyers (finishing at 10.30am to avoid the heat). This event will allow families to buy and sell second hand uniforms and texts or bric a brac, as well as any boutique businesses in our school community to sell their items. As soon as the date is confirmed we will open up the trybooking site again so you can book your bay.
Moving the event to February will allow families to buy second hand uniforms after the Christmas growth spurt and before school goes back. It will also allow those families finishing at JWACS this year to sell their uniform items.
Keep an eye on the newsletter and the parents Facebook page for more details.
Recycling bins
In 2021 the P&F purchased recycling bins for the whole school as part of our sustainability focus. We believe it is important for a school our size to be part of the recycling movement. I’m very pleased to say that proceeds from that effort have now paid off the bins and next year we can look at using the funds to do even more.
We are looking forward to working with 2024’s Sustainability Prefect and staff to develop new initiatives around the School, as well as streamlining our recycling process so that even less rubbish goes to landfill.
The P&F also has a recycling code if you wish to donate via Containers for Change:
Use the link on the logo or QR code below to add our Containers for Change barcode to your Apple Wallet, Android device or preferred loyalty app.
Entertainment Book
If you are interested in purchasing an Entertainment Book, please do do via the below special offer and support our school in the process!
2024
Next year, the last of the long standing committee members (Natalie Smart and myself) will be stepping down as we leave the School. However I am very pleased we will be leaving it in great hands. This year we have seen an enthusiastic group of parents join the P&F and I’m sure they are destined for great things under the stewardship of the members who have been with us for a few years and will help steer the committee on to bigger and better things.
The P&F AGM will be held in March 2024. Please come along, its an opportunity for you and your family to be part of our greater community at JWACS.
If you have any questions or queries about the P&F, how to join or how to participate in one of our annual events, please don't hesitate to contact me on 0417981729, via the parent Facebook page/messenger or at aggbag@yahoo.com
