OSHC

Welcome to OSHC 2026!

We’ve had a wonderful start to the year and a great few weeks getting to know our new Prep students as they settle into OSHC routines and transitions. A huge thank you to Lizzie in Year 4, who has been a fantastic helper and role model, supporting our Preps with confidence and care. We’re looking forward to a fun, safe, and engaging year ahead for all our children and families.

Cooking Club

Cooking Club is running once a week this term, rotating between a Tuesday and a Wednesday afternoon. Last week, due to popular demand, students made Milo balls. When the mixture turned out to be a little too sticky students showed great resilience by working together to adjust the recipe, adding more biscuit and coconut. Their teamwork paid off and everyone enjoyed taking their creations home to share.

This week, Cooking Club coincided with Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day). Students made pancakes and learned that Shrove Tuesday is traditionally a time to use up rich ingredients like eggs and milk before the season of Lent, which is why pancakes have become such a popular part of the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child forgets to come to after school care?

We have policies and procedures we put in place in the event your child hasn’t arrived to OSHC as booked, this includes paging the child over the intercom, contacting the child’s teacher and the school office and then contacting families and emergency contacts, as a last resort police and emergency service may be called. It is for this reason that we ask that you notify us of any absences as soon as possible.

Child Safety at OSHC

At Outside School Hours Care, the safety and wellbeing of all children is our top priority. We provide a supportive, inclusive environment where children feel respected, listened to, and confident to speak up. We regularly talk with children about the Child Safe Standards, their rights and the importance of open, honest conversations. Families are always welcome to speak with us if they have any questions or concerns.

To help keep children safe, we ask parents and carers to continue bringing photo identification at pick up to help us ensure children are only ever released to authorised people who are listed on your enrolment form.

In line with the National Model Code of Conduct parents are asked not to take photos of children while at OSHC. Educators also do not use personal devices while working directly with children, in accordance with our policies and the Education and Care Services National Regulations. We do carry the OSHC mobile phones and iPads so we can be contacted and to manage our lists of where students are during the session.

Child Care Subsidy

If you have applied for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and it is not appearing on your statement, please check that OSHC has been provided with both your child’s CRN and the CRN of the parent claiming the subsidy. Please also ensure that you have confirmed the enrolment in your MyGov account.

If you are still experiencing issues, please email Kelly for assistance.

Payments

Just a reminder that statements are sent out on Mondays and reflect attendance charges from the previous week. Please ensure payment is made within one week, unless an alternative payment arrangement has been negotiated with Kelly, to avoid any cancellations to your child’s OSHC bookings.
