Foundation

Class Information

Foundation students all began their new morning routine today, and it was wonderful to see how many students were ready in their lines and waiting for the classroom teacher.  Thank you to all of the families who assisted their child in lining up this morning. This new routine will continue for the rest of the year.  

GOAL SETTING MEETINGS

Thank you to all of the families who attended the goal setting interviews. This was a great opportunity to catch up on how the Foundation students have settled in, as well as setting new learning goals. The Goals will be available to view on PAM.  

FOUNDATION WEEKLY TIMETABLE 

We know how important it is for families to know what the students are doing each day of the week at school, so we have attached a weekly timetable below for you all. We will also send home a copy of the timetable in your child’s reading bag.

PUPIL OF THE WEEK

Each week, all Foundation classes will celebrate one student from each class who is their Pupil of the Week. Congratulations to the following students:  

FCM – Ella & Elijah 

FSC – Henry &  Rylie 

FAB – Leo & Mietta 

FIRST WEDNESDAY AT SCHOOL

Just a reminder that the students have their first full week of school this week, including Wednesday. If you feel like your child still requires a day's rest, please do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.  

BOXES FOR THE COLLAGE AREA

If you have any boxes at home that you could donate to the collage area for investigation time, this would be greatly appreciated.  We seem to be running low at the moment because we have lots of Foundation students enjoying the collage area.  

FOUNDATION LEARNING FOCUS 

Literacy 

Students are learning about: 

  • The letters and sounds ‘m’ ‘s’ ‘t’ ‘a’ 
  • Syllables 
  • Rhyming 
  • Blending 
  • Identifying words and letters 

  • Using oral language to describe themselves, and animals 

     

Mathematics 

Students are learning about: 

  • Measurement – days of the week 
  • Number formation
