Learning Through Children’s Voices

The children were excited to choose “All About Europe” as their Term 1 topic as it allows them to learn about different countries while sharing their own interests and ideas with peers. This topic provides many opportunities for children to learn from one another, ask questions, and build their confidence when communicating in group settings.

We love hearing feedback from our Peak families and truly value your input. If there is anything you would like to see included in future programs, please don’t hesitate to reach out and share your ideas with us.

Upcoming Events

We have an exciting term ahead. Any upcoming events or special activities will be communicated as dates are confirmed.

Vacation Care

Planning is underway for Vacation Care at the end of Term 1. If you have any ideas, please do not hesitate to email us or speak to an educator during drop off or pick up! Keep an eye out for the Vacation Care program which will be released close to the end of term.

Reminders

We are always looking to add to our Loose Parts Trolley and would love support from our Peak families! If you have any clean, safe recycled materials at home, we would greatly appreciate donations. Examples include, cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls, plastic bottle tops, plastic containers, egg cartons, fabric scraps, ribbon, jars, lids and other loose recyclable items!

These materials encourage creativity, problem-solving, and open-ended play, allowing children to use their imagination in many different ways. Thank you for supporting sustainable practices and helping us create rich learning experiences for the children!

Changes to Policies or Procedures

To help ensure the safety of all children, we have introduced an updated drop off and pick up procedure at Peak NCS. All parents and carers are required to speak directly to an educator when arriving and departing. An educator will provide the iPad for sign in and sign out and may request photo identification where required. We kindly ask that all parents and carers have ID available and present it when requested.

For our new families, please ensure that if you child has Asthma or Anaphylaxis, all required medical action plans, along with necessary medication such as puffers, spaces, or EpiPens, are provided before your child’s first day. This ensures our educators are fully prepared to support your child’s health and safety at all times.

We are also updating our Family Wall within the Peak room to help strengthen children’s sense of belonging. Families are warmly invited to send in a family photo if they would like it displayed. This helps children feel connected to their families throughout the day and supports a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and support in keeping Peak a safe and nurturing space for all children.

Community Board

Are you aware of any community programs or events that families may be interested in?

During Term 1, Peak NCS will be hosting all families for a morning tea to meet the new educators! This morning will consist of yummy treats for breakfast and lovely chats with new educators of Peak NCS, learning all about them and allowing the educators to learn more about families of this amazing school. The dates will be announced soon!

Are there any special holidays, celebrations, or themes that will be featured in the centre soon?

Here at Peak NCS we are planning our community engagement for Valentine’s Day! This means we are organising with our Peak students what we should create to give to a local community centre, (e.g. nursing home, fire brigade, police station etc.) If any families have any ideas or family members in one of these locations, we would love to reach out and connect to start our journey!

Our Team

We are excited to introduce Chelsea, who has recently stepped into the role of Responsible Person at Peak NCS. Chelsea brings 8 years of experience in OOSH care, supporting children and families across a range of settings.

Many families may recognise Chelsea, as she previously worked at Peak NCS from 2020 to 2022. She is thrilled to be returning to the Peak NCS community and is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where children feel confident, included, and valued.

Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time at the beach, reading, and playing darts! Please join us in welcoming Chelsea back to Peak – we are so excited to have her as part of the team!
