Clean Sweep at GD Swimming
Congratulations to all Hamilton and Alexandra College swimmers who represented the College with pride and determination at this year’s GD Swimming Carnival.
Under the leadership of Mrs Joyce, Director of Sport, the annual carnival was once again a fantastic celebration of participation, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit among GD schools. Our students demonstrated outstanding commitment throughout the day, supporting one another and striving for personal and team success in every event.
Their efforts in the pool resulted in an exceptional outcome for the College, achieving a clean sweep across all major trophies:
🏊♀️ Girls Aggregate Champions
🏊♂️ Boys Aggregate Champions
🏆 Overall Winning School
Individual performances were equally impressive, with Sophie Ryan and Ava Cottle recognised as Age Group Champions, highlighting the strength and depth of talent within the College swimming program.
We extend our sincere thanks to all GD schools for their support and camaraderie throughout the carnival, contributing to a positive and enjoyable day of competition.
Well done to all swimmers for their dedication, teamwork, and outstanding representation of the College both in and out of the pool.
Netball
Netball at Pedrina Park has started and it’s fantastic to see everyone back out on the courts. With great energy, strong teamwork and plenty of determination, our teams have kicked off Saturday with some fun and exciting games for both players and spectators. It’s been wonderful to see both new and returning players giving their best effort and supporting one another throughout the matches.
Tarrington (14) def Sapphires (11) – Junior School team
The Mavericks’ first game of the season was a close one against Tarrington. The team gave it their all, and although we didn’t come out on top, the score was tightly contested throughout. There were some excellent moments of teamwork and determination, with the girls showed real promise. It wasn’t the win we hoped for, but the close score shows we’re on the right track as we head into the rest of the season!

Baimbridge (32) def Diamonds (30)
Baimbridge fought hard to come away with the win against Diamonds in a tightly contested match. Diamonds put up a strong fight all game, making Baimbridge work for every goal and keeping the pressure on until the final whistle. It was a competitive clash, with both teams battling for momentum throughout the game.
Considering it was the first-round back, everyone did an amazing job. A special mention goes to standout players Sophie Hill and Lily Giles for their determination and never-give-up attitude. They gave it their all from start to finish. Another mention for Clare Haldane for filling in for us after Grace was injured early. Thankyou!
Mavericks (24) def Monivae (11)
College came home with a well-earned win, putting in 100% effort for every minute of the game. Monivae showed determination throughout, and their strong shooters made some impressive progress, but it wasn’t quite enough to match the Mavericks’ intensity and teamwork.
Standout players go to Pepper Bowes and Felicity Rentsch for their outstanding effort and impact on the court. Well done to all players involved! We can’t wait to see the upcoming match between both College teams!
Mavericks (20) def Firebirds (12)
Welcome to College Netball, Year 7/8s! We hope you enjoyed one of your first games representing College — or even your very first game of netball for several students.
The teams started off strong, with new players stepping into different positions and embracing new challenges. For those having their first crack at netball, you handled everything exceptionally well and should be proud of your efforts. A big thank you to Adia O’Brien and Tom Robertson for filling in and supporting the team — it was greatly appreciated.
Standout players go to Adia O’Brien and to Liv Balkin for their determination and consistent effort throughout the match. Well done everyones, we’re excited to see your growth and development across the season!
