Making Connections
Students visiting our library this year will have noticed thedifferent displays we have been installing highlighting important dates or celebrations in our Community.
Our library has a great range of information books available for everyone to borrow and learn about new things or topics. “Google” isn’t always the best or most reliable source of information.
With things like International Women's Day and Harmony Day coming up we will have lots of interesting up to date books to look at and borrow for all ages of students. Borrowing for our primary students happens during their weekly library lesson, however for senior students, this can be done before or after school or by arrangement with library staff.
Scholastic Book Club
We had a great response to our first Book Club Catalogue for 2026. Book Club flyers are one way you can see what books are popular for children at the moment. Issue 2 will be out shortly and we thank families for their support of this.
Our Learning
Our primary classes are learning about authors this week. It is important to recognise some of the authors who create the amazing stories we get to share each week. We try to focus on Australian and well known international authors.
We have a great book by Philip Bunting called Drop Bear. We love his illustrations and the message of this one is all about not judging people by what others say and think. Julia Donaldson (of The Gruffalo fame) is sharing a lift the flap animal alphabet story with us. Heath McKenzie is teaching us about big feelings and that it is OK to cry.
