Greetings Leighland Christian School Community,

As we approach the end of term, I am excited to announce that the next episode of *The Buzz* will be released next week. This episode will shine a spotlight on NSATIS, our new and exciting sports program in collaboration with fellow independent schools on the north coast of Tasmania. We encourage all families to tune in and learn more about this fantastic initiative that promotes not only athletic excellence but also teamwork and community spirit.

Looking ahead, I would like to remind everyone that the last day of school for our students will be Thursday, 26 September. As we wrap up this term, I reflect on the incredible learning our students have had through their classes, excursions and extracurricular opportunities that have been provided to our students. I am so grateful to our teachers for their dedication to our students and the time they give above and beyond to provide experiences to our students that will last with them a life time.  We hope for a restful, peaceful, and enjoyable break for our families and staff, allowing everyone to recharge for the upcoming term to conclude 2024!

In the spirit of gratitude, I am reminded of the words from Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward." This scripture beautifully encapsulates our appreciation for the hard work and dedication shown by our students and staff throughout this term.

Term Three has been particularly interesting in my role as Executive Principal. Much of my focus has been on looking toward the future, analysing financial projections, enrolment, master plans, and planning staffing needs. Despite these responsibilities, I remain committed to supporting our Senior Leadership Team and ensuring the smooth operation of our school.

I also want to emphasise the importance of partnership with parents, guardians and students. We are committed to working together for the best possible outcomes for our students. This collaboration is vital, and I am proud to see our hope-filled community exemplifying this spirit, all while keeping Christ at the center of everything we do.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement of our school. Together, and through Gods strength and guidance, we can ensure a bright future for all our students.

Joy and Peace,

Natasha Mackinnon
