Wildlife Garden

Dear teachers, students, volunteers and parents,

Last Friday I had one incredible, crazy busy day planting our natives in our new wildlife garden with you.

This incredible project was the result of many months of planning and knocking on Luke’s and Graeme’s doors, of the support of the school, specially the incredible Denise and Mandy, but mostly it was doable thanks to the support of the teachers, who made the time and space in their busy agendas to help; the many many students who joined me during their recesses to give me a hand; the volunteers who spend hours working by my side under rain and sun and the parents who had been so supportive since day one.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to you all!

Friday was the pinnacle of some intense months of work. And as school finished and the kids were walking out with their parents, I witnessed some of the kids taking their parents to the wildlife garden and to show them with so much pride the natives they planted. That was enough for me to feel that all the time and effort put into this project was worth it.

It has been a great pleasure to work by your side during the last couple of months, and I just hope that it has been enjoyable for you too.

For all the parents who had been there, for all the kids who had joined me, and for all the people who wanted to be part but couldn’t, I put together an album with all the photos I have been taking along the last couple of months to capture the transformation of this space. Please enjoy the many memories that had been created in this new space https://photos.app.goo.gl/V9MUpo6UN1bZw8Tm7

(if you want any photos where you or your child is in to be removed from this public album, please let me know and I will do it)

Last note:

As you will have noticed, the wildlife garden area has been temporarily fenced to give all our natives the chance to settle and establish. The fences will stay up at least until the beginning of term 4.

And stay tuned. More news about working bees around the wildlife garden will be shrewd soon.

Much love,

Agus
