Year 11 and Year 12 Vocational Major Class - RUOK Day

On Wednesday, September 11th, the Year 11 and 12 Vocational Major (VM) students took the lead in organising a memorable and impactful RUOK? Day for our school community. With a focus on the connection between physical and mental health, the event brought students together for a half-day of activities that promoted both wellness and fun.

The day kicked off with a series of rotating workshops and activities. Headspace facilitated a workshop that combined games with meaningful discussions on mental health, providing students with tools to support themselves and their peers. Tammy, our school's dedicated mental health practitioner, led another workshop with her wealth of knowledge.

For those seeking a bit more movement, an obstacle course was set up to encourage physical activity, with students navigating their way through a range of challenges. Congratulations to Maya Funke and Jam Pareja for the fastest times of the day. Music and dancing filled room 9, adding an element of energy and joy to the day's proceedings, with everyone getting involved and moving to the beat.

As lunchtime rolled around, the excitement continued with a costume competition. Students dressed up as their favourite movie characters, and the best-dressed took home prizes, adding a playful and creative element to the day’s activities.

The Year 11 and 12 VM students did a fantastic job in organising an event that not only raised awareness around mental health but also highlighted the importance of physical activity in staying mentally well. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made the day such a success!
