YEAR 9 -WOMEN IN TRADE INCURSION
On 29th August, 24 year 9 female or non-binary students explored the world of trades. Students learnt about valuable career pathways, and engaged in hands on experience with hand and power tools.
YEAR 11VM -JD SPORTS
On Monday 16th September our year 11 VM Students gained an insight into working for JD sports. Students gained insight into the interview process- including group interviews, resume writing, opportunities and much more.

All year 12 students wishing to go into tertiary education or Tafe should now have created a VTAC account.
Please keep an eye on the key dates below.
SEAS and scholarship review guarantee closes on 20th September, 2024. Please have all SEAS documents uploaded before this date.

Where can an Arts Degree take you?
There is often the debate about the value of an Arts Degree and what kind of role an Arts graduate could find in industry. The list of roles is quite varied, and includes - Teaching & educational administration Arts production and management
Public service and social welfare agencies
General management and administration (local and global)
Communications industry, publishing, media, and public relations
Tourism and hospitality
One of the very important things for students to note, is that an Arts student learns skills that are very transferrable in industry. These include communication skills, critical thinking and reading skills, analytical skills, and research skills. Monash Humanitarian Scholarship
Value: Full course fees plus up to $30,000 allowance

Are you an asylum seeker on a bridging visa? If you are a high-achieving student with the ambition to change your future, you may be eligible for the Monash Humanitarian Scholarship. You will receive 100% international student funding for the Monash undergraduate degree of your choice plus a yearly allowance of $6000.
Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship
Value: $20,000 AUD

The Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship was made for talented and inquisitive high school graduates looking to strengthen their passion and expertise in technology to innovate and create new opportunities and inspire good in the world of STEM.
ECU Greg Benjamin WAAPA Music Entrance Scholarship
Value: $10,000 AUD
Open date: June 28, 2024
Closing date: March 30, 2025
The Greg Benjamin WAAPA Music Entrance Scholarship is awarded to an exceptional Piano student in the jazz or classical discipline. Students auditioning in 2024 for a place in the Bachelor of Music course in Piano (jazz or classical) for 2025 will be considered for the Scholarship throughout the audition process. The successful recipient will be advised at the time of receiving their offer from WAAPA.

The Diamond Challenge
Value: Up to $12,000 USD

The Diamond Challenge, a philanthropic education initiative by Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware, offers free open-access resources for students, educators, and entrepreneurship practitioners. Participation in the Diamond Challenge involves both learning from the pursuit of new ideas and the creation, submission, and presentation of original business and social venture concepts.
FLiCKERFEST 2025 FlickerUp Competition

FLiCKERFEST, Australia’s premier international short film festival, will be held at Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach in January 2025. The Festival in 2025 will celebrate 34 years of screening the best short films from Australia and around the world in competitions and special showcases.
FlickerUp 2025 competition is an Australian Youth & Schools Competition which screens at Flickerfest – open to films from students enrolled in secondary schools in Australia, & individuals 18 years & under. Films to be under 35mins, completed in the last 2 years.
Little Stories Big Ideas Flash Fiction Competition (Term 3)

Little Stories, Big Ideas is a flash fiction competition for Australian Secondary School Students. The competition runs four times per year and is free to enter. Each quarterly competition will have a theme.
New England Thunderbolt Prize for Crime Fiction (Youth Award)
Value: $150 AUD
Open date: June 17, 2024
Closing date: September 27, 2024
The Thunderbolt Prize is a prestigious, nationally recognised, literary award for crime writers in Australia.
This category, part of the national crime fiction prize, is open to writers under 18 years who write a fictional story (2,500 words), a non-fiction article (2,500 words) or 60-line poem about crime.
