Junior School - week 3 update

by Mr Nic Barca, Head of Junior School

Welcome back to Term 4! As we dive into the final stretch of 2024, I’d like to share a few important reminders and updates to ensure we finish the year with the energy and spirit that makes Box Hill High School so special.

Uniform expectations

At Box Hill High, our uniform represents who we are as a community, and it’s wonderful to see students wearing it with pride each day. As the weather heats up, please remember to stick to our summer uniform guidelines.  We know it’s tempting to skip a few rules here and there, but staying consistent shows respect for our school and each other. Let's keep looking sharp and representing the Box Hill way!

Attendance matters

We’ve had an outstanding year so far, and as we approach the final term, it’s more important than ever to keep up regular attendance. Missing just one day can make a big difference, especially with assessments and final projects coming up. Whether you're in Year 7 or Year 8, being present and punctual helps keep the momentum going, and we want everyone to finish the year strong!

Friendship preferences for 2025

As we start planning for next year, we'll soon be asking our Year 7s and 8s to submit friendship preferences for their 2025 Home Groups. It’s a unique chance to think about who you’d like to be placed with next year. While we’ll do our best to accommodate requests, it’s also a time to reflect on how making new friends and building different connections can help you develop those lifelong skills that are a hallmark of Box Hill High. Stay open-minded—you might just discover new friendships that will make next year even better!

Year 8 camp – a Box Hill tradition you can’t miss!

To all our Year 8s—get excited! Our camp at The Summit in Trafalgar from December 11-13 is fast approaching, and this is your chance to take part in one of the great Box Hill traditions. Not only is it a celebration of your year, but it’s also an opportunity to build teamwork, resilience, and friendship before you transition into Year 9. The activities, challenges, and memories you’ll make at camp will be with you for years to come. So, if you haven’t signed up yet, make sure you do! We want every Year 8 student to be part of this unforgettable experience. Parents/guardians, please ensure you consent and pay before 22 November.
