by Ms Chloe Martinich, Leading Teacher Student Voice
We are very excited to announce our 2025 School Captain and Vice-Captains. These students have engaged in a competitive election and selection process and will be committed positive leaders of our school community next year.
School Captain: Amiya C
Amiya’s initiative, strong communication skills, and ability to get things done are exceptional. As School Captain for 2025 she aims to build upon the strengths of Box Hill High by creating more opportunities for everyone to participate in school events, fostering stronger community connections. Her goal is for every student to find something they can relate to to build a greater sense of belonging and pride within our school. She has had an extensive leadership journey. She attended the Alpine School for Student Leadership in Year 9, was a Peer Support Leader, and a Year 11 leader this year. She is a great listener and an even better advocate, someone who deeply cares about amplifying the student voice.
Vice-Captain: Cheryl C
Cheryl is eager to work next year to enhance our school community, with a particular focus on improving inclusion and fostering respect for diversity. She has been actively involved in a range of school activities including representing our school in regional swimming, interschool badminton, the magazine club and the Model UN competition. She has been a hard-working Year 11 leader this year representing our school at Open Day and the Whitehorse Youth Forum. She is optimistic, approachable, responsible, understanding and an all-round outstanding leader.
Vice-Captain: Marcus S
Marcus has consistently demonstrated a passion for leadership and teamwork. His vision includes expanding leadership opportunities for junior students and advocating for our school to give back to the wider community in a more meaningful way. He is committed to ensuring that student voices are not only heard but acted upon, and he will be attending junior school leadership meetings to ensure that the work of the Prefect team reflects the ideas and needs of all students. He has been a class captain in Year 8 & 9, a Peer Support leader in Year 10 and an excellent role-model as Year 11 leader this year. He is and will be a true symbolic leader of our school next year.
