Galactic Glow Disco!

On Friday 6th September the Preps were very excited to come to school in their disco and white clothes, ready to dance the afternoon away at the BNPS Galactic Glow Disco.

The parents had done such a wonderful job of decorating the Year 5 space with glittery wall hangings and fluoro decorations and the disco lights and the ultraviolet lights made the space feel extra special.

The Preps danced along enthusiastically to songs like the Roar, Shake It Off and the Gummy Bear Song. They even got to have a go at a conga line!

SMART Spelling

Last week our ‘Word of the Week’ was teacher. Did you know that teacher contains three different diagraphs? /ea/, /ch/ and /er/! The Prep children are making wonderful progress with their writing skills, applying their knowledge of letters, sounds and diagraphs to sound out the spelling of familiar and new words.

During the week we read a fun story together called ‘What Do Teacher’s Do (after YOU Leave School)? written by Anne Bowen. Inspired by the story the children enjoyed writing and drawing about what they think the teachers get up to after they go home.

Some of their ideas were dancing on the tables, roller-skating down the corridors, making slime and having a food fight in the staffroom!
