 Gravity & Other Myths

We would like to send a HUGE thank you to the Parents and Friends group for funding an upcoming Circus session for all students, worth $3500.

What is Gravity & Other Myths?

Gravity & Other Myths is an Australian circus company pushing the boundaries of contemporary circus. GOM’s work utilises an honest approach to performance to create shows with a focus on human connection and acrobatic virtuosity.

Basic group acrobatics workshop – This is ideal for young groups with limited or intermediate experience. We teach basic partner pyramids and work our way up from there catering to the skill level and enthusiasm of each participant. It’s fun, challenging, safe for beginners and ideal for schools.

Students will be participating in sessions on Monday 16th or Wednesday 18th September. We are not sending home permission or medical forms for this incursion, and will use school health information provided. Please let the front office know if you have any questions or concerns about your child's participation. Thank you!

Festival of Music Choir

Wednesday 18th of September a number of our year 5 and 6 students performed on stage at the Adelaide Festival Theatre as part of the Public Primary Schools Festival of Music.

The Primary Schools Festival of Music is an iconic South Australian tradition, we engage our students in artistic excellence, cultural diversity and social inclusion through performance in Music and the Arts.

The Festival of Music concerts feature Year 5 and 6 students singing together in a massed choir of just over 300 students.

This year we commissioned Robyn Habel and Adam Page to compose a set of four songs entitled “State of the Arts”. The audience participation was fun and something very different.

During the concerts there were several Guest Artists from public primary and secondary schools, other choir items that presented different musical genre, and two pieces that specifically showcased the talents of the orchestra.

This year Festival of Music included the ABBA song ‘Waterloo’, to mark 50 years since ABBA had won Eurovision with that song.

It was a spectacular event that our students enjoyed being a part of.

Thank you

We would like to thank some parent helpers who made it possible for our choir students to perform at the festival theatre. Thank you to Alex Fry and Angela Ryan for their assistance at Magic Millions and to Jen O'Hehir and Ian Borne who were at the choir concert.

We would also like to thank our volunteers for the year 6 Flinders Camp. Thank you to Adam Braley, Phil Charlton, Zoe Sanders and Tina Vince for giving up their time.
