Division Softball

On Thursday, October 10th, 2024, the St. Martin de Porres Softball team went to the Divisional Softball tournament at President Park, Wyndham Vale. Even though we lost, we had an amazing time playing at such a high level. 

In total, there were 3 games against Seabrook, Point Cook and Newport Gardens. The first game was a tie having a score of 14 to 14. In the second game, St. Martins lost 13 to 10 and in the final game St. Martins lost to the score of 9 to 18. We all had an amazing time and we got to have Zooper Doopers each when we came back.

The team for the Softball tournament was Hayden, Finlay, Manraj, Vrish, Kosta, Fabian, Oliver, Darcy, Lucas, Marcus, Tanish, Louie and Harry (who was absent).

Cricket Gala Day

On Tuesday the 15th of October, 9 boys from Grade 5 and 6 (Immanuel, Ruan, Aarav, Ojus, Manraj, Akshay, Vrish, Tanish and Rounil) went to Williamstown to represent SMDP as a school cricket team. 

We played 3 matches in the divisional cricket gala day against Seaholme, Seabrook and Alamanda. The boys tried their very best and put on quite a show. In the end, they didn’t win but most importantly, they tried their best and a little bit more!

Divisional Tennis

Playing at divisional tennis was a lot of fun. We qualified by winning all our matches at the district weekly interschool sports. Everyone there was very nice. The team that came first was Alamanda Primary, second was Williamstown Primary School and then last was us. Alamada had around a whopping 300 students for try outs and only 12 students were chosen. So that's probably why they won all their games. But when we got back we were all given Zooper Doopers because of our efforts and it was really hot so we definitely didn’t complain about that.

These are the people who were playing there: Yuvraj, Dexter, Jonathan, Louis, Marcus, Jackson, Mitchell, Ojus, Oliver, Jay and Lucas.
