Mental Health & Wellbeing

đ Mental Health and Wellbeing at St Anthonyâs đ
As part of the Mental Health in Primary Schools initiative, which will run over the next two years, our school will continue to strengthen the ways we support the mental health and wellbeing of all students across our school community.
Â
At St Anthonyâs, we know that positive mental health and wellbeing helps children feel safe, connected, confident and ready to learn. Just like physical health, mental health is something we all need to care for and support every day.
There are many simple ways families can support childrenâs wellbeing at home, including:
đ Encouraging regular routines and good sleep habits
đ Spending time together and having open conversations
đ Helping children name and talk about their feelings
đ Encouraging outdoor play, movement and creativity
đ Reminding children that mistakes are part of learning and growing
đ Checking in regularly about friendships, worries and school life
Â
It is normal for children to experience ups and downs; however, if you notice ongoing changes in your childâs mood, behaviour, sleep, friendships or engagement with school, it can be helpful to seek support early. Your first point of call at school should always be your childâs classroom teacher, however you are always welcome to contact me or the office if you have any concerns or would like support accessing further information or services.
Â
As part of our work in the MHiPS initiative, we are hoping to gather feedback from families to help us better understand parent perspectives around how mental health and wellbeing is supported and managed at St Anthonyâs.Â
I would appreciate if all families could complete this survey:Â
Your feedback will play an important role in helping guide our future wellbeing initiatives and supports across the school.
Â
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue working together to help all students feel happy, safe and supported at school. đ
