As we arrive at the mid‑term mark, I want to acknowledge the collective effort of our students, staff and families. The first half of the term has been filled with productive learning, positive relationships and a strong sense of community and I look forward to building on this in the weeks ahead.
Our 2027 Prep Information Night, held last Tuesday, was a tremendous success with a fantastic turnout from families eager to learn more about our school. A huge thank‑you to the Leadership Team and to Mikaela Gleeson, our Prep Coordinator, for their engaging presentation on how our school operates and our whole‑school approaches to Literacy, Numeracy and Wellbeing. A special shout‑out also goes to our Year 6 Leaders, who spoke confidently and represented our school with pride - they did an amazing job and were a highlight of the evening.

Our school has introduced a new Tier 2 Prep intervention program designed to strengthen the foundational skills our youngest learners need for success in the classroom. This small group program is delivered by two external Occupational Therapists who work closely with our school, alongside our school‑based OT, ensuring strong continuity and expertise. The program supports Prep students to follow two‑step instructions with greater accuracy and independence, sustain attention for age‑appropriate periods and develop fine motor skills that promote clear and consistent letter formation. Students also participate in structured small‑group activities that build turn‑taking, active listening and collaborative problem‑solving. This targeted, evidence‑based approach will help our Prep students grow in confidence and develop the essential skills they need to thrive.

With Winter around the corner, we have seen an increase in cold and flus over the last couple of weeks. If your child is unwell, seek medical attention, limit contact with others and stay at home until symptoms have passed. Good general hygiene remains the best defence against infection. Please encourage your children to regularly wash their hands and cover their nose and mouth if sneezing and coughing.
