Dear Parents and Carers,

Getting Ready to Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Next week, we will proudly celebrate Catholic Schools Week. This year’s theme, “Our Hope-Filled Future,” reminds us of the enduring values at the heart of Catholic education: loving God, caring for one another, and serving those in need. As a faith-filled community, we continue to nurture students who lead with compassion, kindness and integrity. Looking toward the future with hope and confidence, we know our shared values will guide our students to make a positive difference in the world.

Attendance Reminders

Daily attendance for all students is vital for both academic success and social development. Missing just one day a week can significantly impact a child's progress. If your child is absent, please notify the school office or submit an absence note via Compass.  We look forward to working with families to ensure success for every student.

Supporting Students Through NCCD

Did you know that NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data) moderation is taking place across Australian schools over the coming months?

The NCCD is an annual national process that helps schools and governments identify students with disabilities, learning needs, or chronic health conditions who require adjustments to access learning.

Moderation is a quality assurance process in which staff review evidence, such as Personal Learning Plans, specialist reports, classroom adjustments, and meeting notes, to ensure that the support provided to students is accurately recorded and aligned with national guidelines.

At St Ed's, this process helps strengthen the consistency and reliability of teacher judgments regarding student adjustments and support levels. During Term Two, schools also participate in system-level moderation before submitting data for the August census.

Thanks to Phoebe George, Kayla Smith, Bel Barry Cupples, and Katrina McCumstie from Armidale Catholic Schools for overseeing this process.

Winter Uniform

We wish to advise parents that the official date for changeover from summer to winter uniform is generally after the June long weekend (Tuesday 9th June).  However, as the weather has turned a little cooler in the morning, we are now allowing students to wear either a full winter (INCLUDING A TIE) or a full summer uniform during this transition period. School uniform items are available for purchase from LOWES in Tamworth. Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring your child wears the correct uniform to school.

Have a wonderful week.

Keep smiling,
