Dear Parents and Caregivers

Welcome back to Term Four!

It has been a busy couple of weeks at St Helena's full of lots of fun, celebration and learning! It is hard to believe that as of today, we are halfway through the final term of 2025!

Last week I had the privilege of speaking to the Class of 2025 about the impact they have made on our school so far, particularly in 2025. This year, our Year Six students have been outstanding leaders to our school community, organising events, clubs, fundraisers and daily happenings. They have demonstrated our school values through their actions which sets a wonderful standard for the whole school. With only 27 school days left of the 2025 school year we also spoke about the importance of making memories and enjoying every small moment they have left of their primary school days.

Grandparents' Day

A HUGE thank you to all the grandparents and other special elderly adults who attended our Grandparents' Day liturgy and morning tea. The Year Three students led a beautiful liturgy, and it was wonderful to see the children spending time with their grandparents chatting, laughing, and playing games together outside. Grandparents' Day is a wonderful community celebration and a fantastic opportunity to welcome extended family members into our school life.

Interschool Athletics Team

Congratulations to the students in Year 3 to 6 who represented St Helena's at the 2025 CPSSA A Division Interschool Athletics Carnival. From all reports they proudly lived out our school values and displayed outstanding sportsmanship. Thank you Mr Mark McCormack for preparing the team and organising the event. A big thank you to Mrs Genevieve Dapaah, Mrs Elise Johnson, Miss Alix Fitzgerald and the parents who assisted on the day.

Cyber Safety

On Monday our Year 3 to Year 6 students participated in the Healthy Tech Habits incursion, which explored the impact of screen time and online behaviour. With many children spending hours online and facing risks like inappropriate content and cyberbullying, the program offered practical strategies to help students build safer, healthier habits around devices, gaming, and social media. It also focused on empowering them to take control of their digital wellbeing.

Save the date because Paris will present to our parent and caregiver community on 10 February 2026 from 6:00pm!

Socktober

A big thank you to all the children who participated in our Socktober event to support Catholic Mission. Led by the Year Six Social Justice Student Leaders, students kicked sockballs during their sport sessions to raise awareness for children in need around the world. It was great to see students wear a soccer shirt or accessory with their uniform on Tuesday to also raise awareness of Socktober. Well done to our Year Six Social Justice Student Leaders who organised and ran the event!

World Teacher's Day

Last Friday, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day and recognised and thanked all our incredible staff for the dedication, care and passion they bring to educating our students each day.

Thank you to the P&F who provided our staff with a lovely lunch to commemorate the day and to all the children who said thank you to their teachers - it definitely made their day!

Remembrance Day

All community members are welcome to attend our combined schools and Ellenbrook RSL Remembrance Day service at 10:30am on 11 November at Woodlake Memorial. All classes from Year 1 to Year 6 will be attending. This years service will also be in memoriam for Dr Neil MacNeill, an important member in our Ellenbrook community who was instrumental in the creation of the Woodlake Memorial and combined schools ANZAC and Remembrance Day events.

Annual Community Meeting

Save the date! All parents/caregivers are invited to attend our Annual Community Meeting on 27 November 2025 at 6:00pm in the school library. Nomination forms to join the P&F and School Advisory Council were sent home via email last week.

Have a lovely week!
