Pre-Primary Lorikeets and Possums
We have had a great start to Term 4 and can’t believe we are in our last term of PrePrimary!
In Religion we are learning about Baptism. We know that when someone gets Baptised they become part of God’s special family.
In Mathematics we have been practising adding number together. We have had lots of fun practising with hands on materials. We are also continuing to practise our counting to 100. We are becoming amazing mathematicians.
In Talk for Writing we have been learning the text Wombat Stew. We can’t wait to perform this later this term as part of our assembly. We are really enjoying make our own wombat stews during outside play.
We have also been working hard with our reading and handwriting making sure that we are forming our letters correctly during our daily writing sessions. It is amazing to see how much everyone has improved throughout the year!
In HASS, we are learning about different cultures and how people around the world live. We are discovering that people celebrate different festivals and eat different foods. We have learnt that families can look different but all share love and care for each other and we have talked about the languages people speak and the clothes they wear.
Year 3 Magpies and Numbats
Our Year 3 students have been busy in Design Technology, with a special focus on materials and forces. In a hands-on challenge, students worked in teams to design and build bridges made from spaghetti.
This creative task encouraged students to investigate the properties of materials, experiment with and understand how force impacts structure. Showing excellent team-work and persistence, they discovered which designs held the most weight and which collapsed under pressure, sparking rich discussions about different structures and problem-solving.
In Year 3, we’ve been enjoying our daily Math warm-ups to kickstart our mornings and prepare us for the beginning of each Math lesson. These fun and engaging activities are designed to build number fluency and strengthen mental maths skills.
Students are enjoying the chance to play with numbers in fun and creative ways. These warm-ups have helped the students develop confidence, encourage a growth mindset, and create a positive learning environment around Math in the classroom!
