(❁´◡`❁)

Over the past few weeks, our children have been immersed in a vibrant mix of learning themes including Science, Halloween, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Recycling, creating an exciting and engaging atmosphere across our sessions. Through hands-on science experiences like bubbling cauldrons and frog pond explorations, children investigated cause and effect, chemical reactions, water ecosystems, and early STEM concepts in playful, age-appropriate ways. Our Halloween activities offered opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, with favourites including our colourful ghost piñatas and spooky sensory play. The imaginative world of K-Pop Demon Hunters encouraged storytelling, dramatic play, confidence building, and collaboration as children designed characters, mastered “training missions,” and explored movement through music and dance. In our Recycling theme, the children deepened their understanding of sustainability by transforming everyday items into something new—most notably creating an impressive cubby house from recycled boxes and experimenting with paper mâché techniques. These diverse themes not only sparked joy and curiosity but also supported learning across MTOP outcomes, helping children build critical thinking, creativity, social skills, and a sense of responsibility for their world.

It has been a great few weeks, and we can not wait so see what's next to finish the term!!!!

In honour of Recycling Week, we have been inspired to expand our sustainability efforts and invite our wonderful families to get involved. We are now accepting donations of cardboard boxes, dress-ups, craft materials, and any clean, reusable items you no longer need. What might seem like trash at home could become our next great creation at OSHC—whether it’s a cubby, a costume, a STEM build, or an inventive art project. We’d love to give your unwanted items a new lease on life and continue encouraging the children to learn about recycling, reusing, and caring for our environment. Thank you for supporting our sustainable play!

Feedback and suggestions

In order to run an effective and personalised program, we rely on community involvement. The easiest way for us to ensure we are catering to the needs of your children and family is through suggestions and feedback. Please don't hesitate to speak to me directly or leave a note in our feedback box with any concerns or ideas for the service.  We love hearing anything that can help us exceed.

Sun Smart Policy

☀️🤠☀️

As part of our commitment to keeping all the children safe in the sun, we’d like to remind families about our TheirCare SunSmart Policy. With the warmer weather upon us, it’s essential that all children wear a broad-brimmed hat when playing outside.

To make sure every child is protected, we ask that children bring their own hat each day. If you’d prefer, you can leave a spare hat at TheirCare, clearly labeled with your child’s name, so it’s always ready for outdoor play. We do provide sunscreen but if your child has a sensitivity we do recommend bring their own.

Thank you for helping us keep all the children sun-safe! If you have any questions about our SunSmart policy, feel free to reach out.

In order to access the OSHC service, families must register prior to booking. During the registration process, you will be asked to provide details such as emergency contacts, medical requirements, dietary needs, etc.

While booking, please remember that last-minute booking can create a hard time for staffing. Please try to book 24 hours in advance, and if needed, call the service for last-minute bookings to ensure space is available.

If you have a child in Foundation or wish to start attending our fantastic program in 2025, you can register at TheirCare now. Booking is not available as of yet, but I will keep you updated.
