Dear Sacred Heart Community,
A Prayer for Our School Community
As we come together as a school community, let us take a moment to reflect on the importance of kindness and helping others. May we celebrate the ways we can support and care for one another each day.
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for our school, our teachers, and our friends.
Thank you for our families, who guide and support us every day.
Help us to be kind in everything we do – in our words, our actions, and the way we treat others.
Give us the courage to help those in need, to share what we have, and to offer a smile or a kind word to someone who needs it.
May our hearts be full of love, our hands ready to help,
and our minds open to seeing the good in everyone around us.
Bless our families, our teachers, and our school community, so that together we can create a place of care, joy, and understanding.
Amen.
2026 Foundation Information Night
Yesterday evening, Marty and I had the pleasure of welcoming families to our 2026 Foundation Information Night. It was a beautiful night filled with warmth, excitement, and community spirit.
We were delighted to see familiar faces returning with another child joining our school family, as well as to warmly welcome new families who are beginning their Sacred Heart journey. It was wonderful to share information about our programs, learning environment, and the many opportunities that await our youngest learners.
As one parent shared during the evening, “We are so excited for our child to start this new adventure and become part of such a caring community.”
It reminded us of the words of Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Together, as a school and family community, we embark on this exciting journey of learning, growth, and kindness.
Thank you to all the families who attended and helped make the evening so special. We are excited to welcome our 2026 Foundation students and their families into the Sacred Heart community!
Planning for 2026
As we look ahead to 2026, our focus is on creating class groupings and learning environments that support each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
As a staff and leadership team, we are reviewing student learning data, social and peer needs, and classroom dynamics to ensure every child can learn confidently and feel a strong sense of belonging.
We encourage families to have a conversation with their children about who they learn best with, as your insights help us create supportive and positive learning environments.
Our commitment remains the same: “Children are at the heart of everything we do!” Together, we look forward to helping every child grow, flourish, and enjoy a rewarding learning experience in 2026.
Curriculum Day – Friday 21st November
On Friday 21st November, staff will work with Kate Korber to develop our 2026 and 2027 Curriculum and Inquiry Maps, planning learning for students for 2026 and beyond. This day gives our staff valuable time to collaborate and ensure engaging, meaningful learning experiences for all students.
For families needing care, MACSEYE will run a fun program. Bookings must be made directly with MACSEYE, and new families must register beforehand.

Join ARCappella’s Children & Youth Choir
We’re excited to share that ARCappella is offering free musical tuition for Sacred Heart students this term! Students are invited to join their Children & Youth Choir, rehearsing on Wednesdays after school from 4:15pm.
The choir will be performing at their annual Carols by Candlelight event at Edwardes Lake, Reservoir, on 6 December. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their singing skills, meet new friends, and be part of a special community performance.
Parents are also welcome to join the Christmas Choir, rehearsing on Wednesday nights at Sacred Heart. Please see the flyer for more details and how to get involved, we encourage our students and families to take part.
Dates to Remember
With December fast approaching, it’s set to be a busy and exciting month at Sacred Heart! We encourage all families to take a moment to look at the Dates to Remember section in this newsletter. It contains important upcoming events and key dates for your diary, so you don’t miss out on any of the special activities planned.
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Warmest wishes,
Antoniette
