Performing Arts & Music

Juniors

We have started the term off with a bang, jumping right into all things Production. This term, we will be learning our songs and dances that we will perform at our Production Concert next term.

We learnt about how songs have verses, a chorus and a bridge and what they are.

The Foundation children had fun playing charades acting out different wild animals as they will be performing as wild animals for their dance.

The Grade 1 students prepared their best Elton John moves for their dance.

The Grade 2 students sung beautifully along with their song.

The Grade 3 students were excited to learn the choreography and volunteer for solo parts.

Multiple questions were answered, and the excitement is real. We are all very much looking forward to the Production!

As part of our production we have been learning about Boomwhackers and how they can be used to compose musical pieces. We have learned about Wavelength, frequencies and how these can be used to get a variety of sounds. Did you know that if you put a Boomwhacker to your ear you will hear the world through the filter of that particular wavelength? This made for some interesting scenes here at Monty!

Our Grade 6 students discovering how odd the world sounds through different frequencies of Boomwhacker!
