Acting Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope all our mums had the chance to enjoy a beautiful Mother’s Day on Sunday, celebrating the incredible mums, grandmothers, and special women who play such important roles in our lives. I’m sure many of you were showered with kind words, warm hugs, and heartfelt moments from loved ones and a gift from our Mothers’ Day stall! I also want to acknowledge those in our community for whom Mother’s Day may bring a sense of loss — may the cherished memories of your special someone continue to bring warmth to your hearts.
We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support of our parent community over the past few weeks during the many events held at TPS. The feedback from both parents and students has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s been wonderful to see such enthusiastic involvement across so many activities.
From volunteering in the Second-Hand Uniform Shop, helping run the Mother’s Day Luncheon and Stall, coordinating and helping out at the Election Day BBQ and Cake Stall, supporting our Annual Athletics Day, to assisting with the Grade 6 Graduation Raffle and “Guess the Lollies” competition – your contributions have not gone unnoticed. A big thank you also to all our amazing student helpers who played an important role throughout these events.
We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated and committed community supporting our school. Thank you
Interest in our School
We’ve recently welcomed a large number of prospective families on our school tours, and it’s been wonderful to receive such glowing feedback about our programs, learning environments, and the warm, welcoming culture of our school. These tours offer an excellent opportunity for future parents to explore our classrooms, hear about the diverse range of programs we offer, and understand the many benefits of choosing our school as a foundation for their child’s education. A highlight of the tours was hearing from our student leaders — Archie, Skylar, Maisie, and Kaan — who spoke confidently and passionately about their experiences at our school, leaving a strong impression on our visitors.
Apply now to enroll your child at TPS for 2025
If you have a child starting primary school in 2026, it’s time to enrol with the enrolment available from the office. Please submit the enrolment application by Friday, 25 July 2025 as per the statewide timeline.
If you have any questions, please contact Edwina in the office.
Practicing Emergency Drills
Emergency drills are an essential part of maintaining a safe and prepared school environment. These drills help ensure that students and staff know exactly what to do in the event of an emergency, allowing for a calm and efficient response. This week, we held a successful practice lockdown (inside) drill, and we were extremely proud of how calmly and responsibly our students responded. They listened carefully to instructions, followed procedures, and demonstrated a clear understanding of the importance of safety. These drills not only prepare us for unexpected situations but also build students' confidence in knowing how to stay safe at school.
How are our students doing?
We’re pleased to share some exciting early highlights from this year’s NAPLAN results. These initial outcomes are a testament to the commitment of our students, who approached the assessments with focus and determination, and to our staff, whose expertise and high-quality teaching continues to support strong learning outcomes across the school.
We also acknowledge the important role our families play in creating a positive and supportive learning environment. It’s this strong partnership between home and school that helps our students thrive. We look forward to receiving the full reports later this year and sharing more about how our students have progressed.
2025 Student Voice
We value student voice at TPS as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality instruction and we are conducting a survey to find out what your child thinks of their school.
The Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students’ perceptions and experiences of school. Students in years 4, 5 and 6 will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.
This year, the AtoSS will be conducted in the next few weeks. If your Child is in Year 4, 5 or 6 there will be more information distributed through Compass in the coming weeks.
The next two weeks will be a quieter in the TPS calendar after a busy three weeks ( swimming, French day, Mother’s Day concert, production cast selection, Maths Open morning and night to name a few). We wish students participating in the French Poetry competition and Division Cross Country all the best. In the next 2 weeks we look forward to the National Simultaneous Storytime, the German day lunch orders and the Grade 5/6 Winder playoffs.
Kind regards
Sharon Wildermuth
