Japanese Day

Konnichiwa, Monty Community!

All the students made Mother’s Day/Special Person’s Day cards in Japanese last week.

Foundation – Students made origami flowers and learned to say Arigato- (thank you) in Japanese.

Year 1 & 2 – Students practiced writing the kanji for “mother” (母) on a small whiteboard first, then included it along with their lovely messages in their cards.

Year 3 & 4 – Students drew their special person in Japanese style on a 3D pop-up card.

Year 5 & 6 – Students made a 3D origami flower on their card and wrote special messages for their special person.

It was so lovely to see all the students put so much effort into making a card for their own special person!
