Principal Notes

Welcome Back to Term 2!
I hope you all enjoyed a restful Easter break and some quality time with loved ones. It’s been wonderful to see the students return with energy and enthusiasm for the new term.
As we begin Term 2, please remember the importance of regular attendance—every day counts for your child’s learning and connection at school.
ANZAC Day
Thank you to the families who supported the local ANZAC Day commemorations. It was a meaningful opportunity for our school community to reflect and show respect. Our students demonstrated respect and thoughtfulness during the ceremony and when placing our wreaths and crosses at the Leeton March. We had some students also attend our local Yanco ceremony which was pleasing to see. Our school captains represented our school with pride at both ceremonies.
School Entry & Safety Reminders
A friendly reminder that our school gates will be closed promptly at 9:10 am each morning. If your child arrives after this time, please sign them in at the front office. This helps us ensure a safe and secure environment for all students. The gate will be opened again at 3.10pm for afternoon collection of students.
New Student Collection System
This term, we are trialling a new system for student collection in the afternoons to help streamline pick-up and improve safety. Students will gather at the eating area and be organised into three groups: early bus, walkers (pick up) and late bus. Staff will take each group separately to ensure students are where they need to be at all times. We appreciate your cooperation as we roll this out and welcome any feedback.
PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning)
This term we have launched our PBL reward system. All staff have cards to issue to students that they catch doing something positive! When students have collected 20 cards, they will progress up a level. As they progress, the rewards become greater! All students are working towards being invited to a 'special' reward activity. All students will be rewarded at the end of each term for progressing up the levels. More information will be provided as the term progresses.
Feel Good Fridays
This term we have also launched 'Feel Good Fridays'. Each Friday is made up of activities that cater to meeting HPGE outcomes. Smaller groups allow teachers to see students that may demonstrate potential in a given area. Activities on Fridays include: Cooking, Creative Arts, Sport, STEM, Aboriginal Culture and taking part in the Resilience Project. More information about TRP will be in the next newsletter.
Looking forward to a positive and productive Term 2 together!
Mothers Day Stall
Our P&C will be holding a Mother's Day stall on Friday 9 May at 11.10am - 12pm. The items are priced between $3 and $10. Please remember to send money in on Friday.
We are holding an Afternoon Tea from 2.20pm in the eating area on Friday 9 May as well. Invites were sent home Monday!
