Benvenuta, Anna! We are delighted to welcome Anna Sicklinger, our new Italian Language Assistant, who will be with us for the remainder of the school year. Anna brings with her a passion for languages and cultural exchange, and she will be a wonderful asset to our school community as she supports students in developing their Italian skills and understanding of Italian culture.
We secured Anna through the 2025 CO.AS.IT. Italian Language Assistants Program, a fantastic initiative that supports language education across schools in Victoria.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Claire, the Marinelli family and the Postiglioni family, for so generously hosting Anna during her stay. Your hospitality makes this program possible and greatly enriches the experience for everyone involved.
Benvenuta, Anna – siamo felici di averti con noi!

Students, teachers, and families came together to celebrate National Careers Week - a nationwide event that shines a spotlight on the importance of career development and future planning.
Our school marked the occasion with an exciting Careers Expo and a week full of engaging, hands-on activities aimed at helping students better understand the many pathways available after school.
The Careers Expo was a highlight, transforming the Dillon Room into a bustling hub of opportunity. Representatives from universities, TAFEs, apprenticeship providers and industry partners were on hand to share insights into their fields. Students from Academy and Simonds explored options in health, engineering, creative industries, technology and more, asking questions and gathering resources to help guide their career planning.
It’s an exciting time to be thinking about the future. According to the National Skills Commission, Australia will need an additional one million workers in healthcare and social assistance by 2033. Technology is also shaping the future, with jobs in cyber security, AI and data analytics in high demand. And with over half of future jobs expected to require a post-school qualification, planning ahead has never been more important.
National Careers Week reminded us that careers aren’t one-size-fits-all - and that the exploration to discovering your path is just as important as the destination.
We look forward to continuing to inspire, inform and support every student on their unique career journey.
