Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
This verse encourages us to trust that God is always working to bring new beginnings and hope, even in challenging times. It reminds us to stay hopeful and open to the fresh paths He creates in our lives.
On Thursday, 1st May, our Year 4 students were spiritually prepared for their First Holy Communion through a meaningful and reflective Reconciliation session, prayerfully led by Sister Rita Bou Raffoul. This sacred time allowed our students to examine their hearts and seek God’s mercy, helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus.

On Friday, 2nd May, we gathered as a school community to joyfully congratulate two of our Year 4 students who received their First Reconciliation. It was a beautiful moment of grace and celebration, marking the beginning of their journey towards receiving the Holy Eucharist.

Throughout these special days, our students demonstrated maturity, reverence, and a heartfelt desire to welcome Jesus with pure and open hearts. Their sincere participation reflected the strong foundation of faith being nurtured within them. We give thanks to God for the gift of the Sacraments, which renew and strengthen us as we strive to live out our Christian values daily. We also extend our gratitude to Sister Rita for her spiritual guidance and to the families and teachers who continue to support our students on their faith journey.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our wonderful Year 4 students who received their First Holy Communion, surrounded by the loving presence of their families, friends, and our faith-filled school community. It was a deeply reverent and joyous occasion that marked an important step in their spiritual journey.
The celebration was a truly beautiful and prayerful liturgy, reflecting the care and preparation that went into every detail. We are immensely grateful to the many people who contributed to making this sacramental celebration so special.
A sincere thank you to our Year 4 teachers for their dedicated preparation and guidance of the students over many weeks, and to the Sisters for their spiritual support and presence. Our gratitude also goes to the school choir for enhancing the liturgy with such uplifting and reflective music, and to the coordinators, administrative staff, and all teachers who attended and supported the day so generously with their time and presence.
Congratulations once again to our Year 4 students—we pray that this First Communion will continue to nourish and inspire their faith as they grow in love and friendship with Jesus.

As part of our commitment to service and social justice, Year 10 students recently participated in a Homeless Feed initiative, providing meals to those in need a. Among the dedicated volunteers were Selina Dib and Alyssa Habib, who demonstrated outstanding compassion and leadership. Their willingness to serve and connect with the homeless community reflected the true spirit of empathy and generosity. We are proud of all our students who gave their time to make a difference.
This week, Year 1 Green had the special opportunity to welcome a statue of Our Lady into their classroom as part of their Marian devotion. With joyful hearts and reverent hands, the students created a sacred space filled with flowers, candles, and prayers. Together, they honoured Mary through song, prayer, and thoughtful reflection, learning about her deep faith, courage, and motherly love. The experience helped the children grow in their understanding of Mary’s role in the Church and inspired them to follow her example of kindness, trust in God, and compassion for others.

On St Rita’s Feast Day, the Silver class joyfully gathered to honour the life and legacy of this inspiring saint. Known as the patron of impossible causes, St Rita’s strength and perseverance deeply resonated with students. Together, they reflected on her unwavering faith and compassion, offering prayers and participating in meaningful class activities to celebrate her enduring spirit.

The Jade class warmly welcomed Mother Mary with a special tribute filled with prayer, reflection, and reverence. As the month of May honours Mary, the students took time to explore her significance in the Catholic faith, creating beautiful artworks and sharing heartfelt intentions. Their devotion highlighted Mary’s role as a loving mother and powerful intercessor.
What a wonderful week it has been, filled with faith, learning, and joyful hearts! Our students have been actively engaging in their Religious Education journey; learning how to read the Bible, pray the Rosary, give thanks to God, and explore the true meaning of Hope. Their growing connection with Jesus is evident in every lesson and conversation.
Both teachers and students are embracing RE with remarkable enthusiasm. From linking the Emmaus Story to our Maronite Divine Liturgy, to reflecting deeply on the power of the Resurrection, and even learning how to speak to God through personal prayer; the Holy Spirit is truly alive and moving in every classroom.

Omar, a guest from Lebanon, and Denise recently visited our College to present the inspiring project: “Let’s Build St Charbel’s Trail” to our Year 7–10 students. The presentation included an engaging video and detailed overview of the initiative. This project marks the creation of Lebanon’s first-ever long-distance pilgrimage trail spanning 130km dedicated to St Charbel. It will be developed by the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association, following international standards and best practices used by world-class pilgrimage trails.

Our Year 4 students at Maronite College of the Holy Family marked the final day of May with a reverent and joyful procession, carrying the statue of St. Mary from their classroom to St. Elias Chapel. This beautiful act of devotion concluded the month-long classroom visits of St. Mary’s statue, a tradition that reflects our deep Maronite heritage and love for the Mother of God. We thank God for St. Mary’s intercession and for the opportunity to honour her together as a faith-filled community.
