Student Learning Opportunities
Students have continued to engage in a variety of rich learning experiences beyond the classroom here at St Ed's.
# Our Kindergarten students enjoyed their excursion to the Capitol Theatre to see Spot, which brought literature to life and provided a memorable learning experience.
# Four students are participating in the Wii Gaay Excursion with Mr Peachey this week, strengthening their connection to Aboriginal culture, language and community.
# On Monday, our Year 6 students proudly showcased their learning at the Asian Expo, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of Asia's diverse cultures, histories and traditions. The event highlighted the students' research skills, creativity and confidence in presenting their learning to others.
# Tuesday, our Year 3 students participated in our first retreat before First Communion. The day was an excellent way to reflect, pray and spend time developing their relationship with God. The children also received the sacrament of reconciliation in readiness for Sunday's celebration of the Eucharist.
# Yesterday, our Year 1 students visited the local Art Gallery and Library as part of the Science teaching and learning unit. The students were given the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities to demonstrate how materials can change physically through bending, stretching, heating, and other processes. We have since received a follow-up email stating how wonderful our students represented the school.
In the classrooms, it has been wonderful to note the consistent efforts from all students. Across both sites, teachers have been actively engaging their students in FIFA World Cup-themed activities. We hope to plan some fun, active events to celebrate this Sporting Event at the end of the term.
Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT – Supporting Families in Catholic Education
We are pleased to share a new promotional video from the Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT (CCSP), the peak body representing parents and carers in Catholic schools across New South Wales and the ACT.
The video highlights the important work CCSP undertakes in advocating for families, supporting parent engagement, and providing a strong voice for parents and carers in Catholic education. It also outlines the organisation’s role in working alongside schools, dioceses and educational authorities to ensure that families' perspectives are heard.
An exciting addition to the updated video is information about CCSP’s expanded role in representing parents and carers with children attending Catholic diocesan preschools and long day care centres, commencing in 2027.
We encourage all families to take a few minutes to watch the video and learn more about the valuable support and advocacy available to Catholic school communities.

Have a wonderful week.
Keep smiling,
