Dear Families

As we come to the end of another term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many amazing learning experiences that have taken place across our school, particularly through our community access programs.

Throughout the term, students have engaged in a wide range of community-based learning opportunities. These experiences are much more than excursions; they are an essential part of our curriculum. Community access supports the development of functional life skills, communication, social interaction and independence. Whether visiting local shops, parks, community facilities or taking part in recreational activities, students are applying what they learn in the classroom in real and meaningful contexts. This connection between learning and life is central to our approach, ensuring that each experience is purposeful, relevant and aligned with individual learning goals.

We are incredibly grateful to our Allied Health team for their ongoing collaboration with class teachers. Their expertise helps to ensure that these experiences are accessible, inclusive and tailored to the diverse needs of our students. By working together, they enable each child to participate in ways that are both safe and meaningful, supporting growth in confidence, communication and independence.

This week, you will receive your child’s semester report. You will notice that reports are presented in a new format, designed to more clearly reflect and celebrate your child’s achievements and progress. We hope this format provides a meaningful snapshot of learning across the semester. As always, if you would like further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher; these conversations are always welcome and valuable.

As the colder weather begins to settle in, we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support in keeping your child at home when they are unwell. This helps to maintain the wellbeing of all members of our school community and is greatly appreciated.

Last Wednesday, we remembered the one-year anniversary of our colleague Juliana. As a community, we gathered in prayer to remember her, giving thanks for her life and the lasting impact she continues to have on our school community.

As this is our last newsletter for the term, I wish you all a safe and restful holiday break when it is here. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support, we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term.
