Dear School Community,
As we move towards the end of what has been a very productive and rewarding term, I would like to take this opportunity to share several important updates with our community, as well as acknowledge the significant work of our students and staff.
School Performance Report
Later this week, we will be providing families with our School Performance Report. Under the Standards for Registration and Review of Registration, all schools are required to systematically monitor and inform their community about achievements and attendance performance, in accordance with Commonwealth and South Australian legislation. This report reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement, and it provides valuable insights into how we are progressing in supporting the diverse learning needs of our students. We encourage families to take the time to read the report and engage with the information presented. For your convenience, a hard copy will also be available at the front office for any families who wish to access it in this format.
Student absences for regular set times.
To support compliance with attendance requirements, families are reminded that when a student has regular absences whether for specific days or periods of time, schools are required to have a formal exemption in place to cover this absence.
Moving forward, where ongoing absences occur, we will ask parents and caregivers to visit the school every four weeks to review and sign an updated exemption form. This ensures that our records remain accurate and that we continue to meet our legal obligations while supporting each student’s individual circumstances.
Naming and Rebranding of Catholic Special School
We continue to make steady progress in the important work of developing our future identity as Catholic Special School. As part of our broader amalgamation journey, a key focus has been the branding and renaming process. Recently, we convened an initial working group comprising three parent representatives from our community, along with a number of staff. This group began the process of shaping our emerging Brand DNA and Essence, a foundational step that seeks to articulate who we are, what we stand for, and how we express our identity to the wider community.
The depth of insight and reflection offered by this group has been both affirming and inspiring. Their contributions helped to ensure that our future name and identity will be authentically grounded in our shared values, our commitment to inclusion and our unwavering focus on the dignity and potential of each learner. This work will continue over the coming months, and I will ensure to keep our community informed as we move through each stage of the process.
Student Reports
As we look ahead to the final weeks of term, I would also like to remind families that student reports will be sent home electronically in Week 10. These reports provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate the learning journey that has taken place this Semester.
Finally, I extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff for their professionalism, care and commitment throughout the term. Their work in supporting our students, is deeply valued. I also congratulate our students, whose perseverance, growth, and daily efforts continue to inspire us all.
I wish all families a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break when the time comes. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support and partnership.
Kind regards
