Year 10 Cake Decorations
Mrs Bernardi’s Year 10 Food Specialisation classes have been busy mastering the art of baking and decorating celebration cakes this term.
As part of the unit, students not only developed their practical skills but also reflected on their processes and evaluated their final products, strengthening both their technical ability and critical thinking.
The results were impressive, with beautifully crafted cakes finished using buttercream, ganache and a variety of creative decorations. Flavour combinations ranged from timeless favourites like chocolate and vanilla to more inventive pairings such as lemon and blueberry.
Adding to the occasion, Councillor Mladen Bosnic from Mareeba Shire Council visited one of the classes to see the students’ work firsthand and admire their creations.
