Inspiring Young Writers with Lachlan Carter

Students in Years 7 – 10 recently enjoyed an opportunity to participate in a dynamic writing workshop led by acclaimed author Lachlan Carter.

Throughout the session, Lachlan guided students through a range of creative exercises designed to spark imagination and encourage originality. From quick-fire prompts to collaborative storytelling activities, students were challenged to think creatively, take risks with their ideas and explore new ways of expressing themselves through writing.

Drawing on his own experiences, Lachlan shared valuable insights into his writing journey, inspiring students to embrace creativity, persevere through challenges and develop their unique voice. His engaging and supportive approach created a positive environment where students felt confident to experiment, share their work and enjoy the process of storytelling.

It was wonderful to see so many students fully engaged, stepping beyond their comfort zones and producing imaginative pieces in such a short time. Opportunities like this not only strengthen writing skills but also foster a lifelong appreciation for creativity and literature.
