Sparkle Day Shines Bright!

A huge thank you to our school community for supporting Sparkle Day, organised by the Rainbow Club to raise funds for the Starlight Foundation while reminding us of all that we can put a sparkle in someone else's day through kindness and care.

The Starlight Foundation works to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families by bringing happiness, fun and laughter during difficult times. Through hospital programs, wish granting and entertainment, Starlight helps children experience the joy of being a kid, even while facing serious illness.

Thank you to everyone who brought along a gold coin donation, wore something sparkly, and had their face painted by the Rainbow Club members.  Thanks to your generosity and enthusiasm, we raised an amazing $329.05 for the Starlight Foundation!

A special congratulations and thank you to our wonderful Wellbeing Ambassadors – Xavier, Persephone and Charlotte – and our fabulous Rainbow Club members – Amaliyah, Mia, Lila, Evelyn, Esther, Stella, Ivy, Charlie, Pele and Coco – who worked so hard to make the day such a success. From organising the event to running the face painting, they showed fantastic teamwork, leadership and community spirit.

Interested in joining the Rainbow Club? We'd love to welcome new members! We meet every Wednesday in the F/1A classroom at Lunch time, and everyone is welcome. Come along, make new friends, and help us spread kindness and make a positive difference in our school community.

The Protectors Live Theatre Performance

On Thursday 25 June, our students enjoyed two performances of the engaging live theatre production The Protectors. The performances were tailored to suit different age groups, with one presentation for our junior school students and another for our senior school students, ensuring the content was developmentally appropriate and relevant for each audience.

The Protectors is an interactive theatre experience developed by educators and a clinical psychologist. The performance is aligned with key curriculum outcomes and reflects current research and recommendations from the eSafety Commissioner. Through humour, storytelling and audience participation, the show encouraged students to think about bullying, cyber safety and wellbeing, while providing practical strategies to help them stay safe and support others.

TPS accessed this valuable program through the Schools Mental Health Fund. This Victorian Government initiative enables schools to select evidence-based programs and supports that best meet the mental health and wellbeing needs of their students.

What did our students think?

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the performances and shared some of their favourite moments:

  • "I liked the protect tool – shield." – Sitara
  • “Shield is a way you can stop people from saying unkind things that make you feel sad” Hugo P
  • “Serena and Max had power belts. They got more power when they were thinking kind things” Maya V and Bowie
  • "I liked finding out that the big monster was just Freddy the lizard”– Maya C
  • "I liked when Izzy and Teagan were up on stage." – Nour

Working together

Supporting children to navigate friendships, bullying and the online world is most effective when schools and families work together. We encourage parents and carers to continue these conversations at home by asking children what they learnt from The Protectors and reinforcing strategies for respectful relationships, online safety and seeking help when needed.
