FORMAL ASSEMBLY

Student Leadership Induction Ceremony

On Tuesday 28 July, our school proudly celebrated the Student Leadership Induction Ceremony, recognising students who have accepted the responsibility of leading by example and serving our school community. Surrounded by family, staff and peers, our newly inducted student leaders were formally presented with their badges and pledged their commitment to upholding our school values. We congratulate each of our student leaders and look forward to the positive contribution they will make throughout the remainder of the year.

Student Representative Council President's Remarks

"Good morning to all teachers, students, and parents as well as all special guests who made the time to come today, it is very much appreciated. It is a huge honour to be standing in front of you all today, and to be the presidents of Inverell high school for the incoming year.

We’d like to start off by thanking Hallie and Myles, the previous presidents, for all the effort and time they have put into our school in the last twelve months. We appreciate the hours they have contributed to changing and developing our school's environment and the mark they have left on our school. You've encouraged us so much in our ideas of what a leader should be and we are so thankful for that as well as being given the opportunity to be captains of this amazing group of students.

We would also like to welcome the incoming SRC for the next term, and congratulate the rest of the executive council on receiving their roles. Everyone in the SRC is very deserving of their place, and we have no doubt you will all strive to help the growth of our school. We look forward to working with each and every one of you, and you all bring your own useful qualities and ideas to the council. Thank you to all of you for wanting to put in the time to be a part of the team, we cannot express our gratitude for your time and effort.

I'd like to thank all the teachers that have made this possible for us and supported us through all the years of being on the school council. Mr Stewart who has taken on the role of SRC coordinator has been extremely helpful in organising meetings, events and just keeping the enthusiasm going through the past months and we’d like to give a huge thank you to him. Mr Fowke alongside Mr Perkins and Miss Hutchings have also been great supporters and we look forward to working with you this coming year.

We also look forward to working with the vice presidents Lilly and Noah, as well as the executive council and the rest of the SRC on all upcoming projects and ideas. Together we will do our best to contribute to the positive growth of our school, and improve all things that we can. We believe that we will make this school as positive and healthy of a place to be as possible, and that includes taking ideas from not just the SRC, but everyone. One of our first projects for this coming year is looking towards getting new jumpers to replace the current red v-neck ones, and we hope these will be warmly accepted and liked by all students.

Thank you for listening today and we hope that we can take on everything we have learnt to give back to this school and the community."

- Lucienne Krause & Adam McKinnon
