FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

It has been another exciting and rewarding fortnight as we start Term 3 at Inverell High School, with many opportunities to celebrate student leadership, academic endeavour and the values that make our school community so strong.

On Tuesday, we proudly inducted our newly elected student leaders at a special whole-school assembly. Congratulations to our Student Representative Council Executive and Representatives, Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and our House Captains, who have accepted the responsibility of serving and representing their peers over the coming year. Leadership is not defined by a badge or title, but by a willingness to serve others, demonstrate integrity, and make a positive difference every day. I have every confidence that our new leaders will embrace these responsibilities with enthusiasm and pride. I would also like to sincerely thank our outgoing student leaders for their outstanding service and commitment. Their dedication, initiative and positive contribution have left a lasting legacy, and we wish our new leadership teams every success as they continue to build upon that strong foundation.

As this newsletter reaches our community, our Year 12 students are commencing their Higher School Certificate Trial Examinations. These examinations represent an important milestone in their educational journey, providing valuable experience and feedback as they prepare for the HSC later this year. I encourage every student to approach the next two weeks with confidence, determination and resilience. Success is built on consistent effort, careful preparation and the willingness to learn from every experience. On behalf of our entire school community, I wish all Year 12 students the very best in their examinations.

Next week we proudly celebrate Public Education Week, an opportunity to recognise and acknowledge the outstanding work taking place in public education across New South Wales. Education Week celebrates the achievements of our students, the dedication of our staff and the invaluable partnerships we share with families and our wider community. Public education provides opportunities for every student to thrive, discover their potential and prepare for a successful future. We look forward to sharing a range of activities and celebrations that showcase the many strengths of Inverell High School.

Looking ahead, our school will also celebrate NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week activities during Week 4. These important events provide an opportunity for our students and staff to recognise and celebrate the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while continuing our commitment to reconciliation. Through learning, reflection and participation, we

strengthen our understanding of Australia's shared history and reaffirm our commitment to building respectful relationships founded on truth, inclusion and mutual respect.
