YEAR 2

FROM THE CLASSROOM

This week we got straight back into our fun and learning!

In Literacy, students have continued learning our Talk for Writing text 'Pirate Tom', while exploring how to make their writing more exciting by using adjectives, adverbs, and alternative verbs for 'said' and 'look'. 

In Mathematics, we have begun our new unit on multiplication. Students have been learning the language of "groups of" and practising how to draw and represent multiplication problems using equal groups.

During LLLL, we have focused on alternative letter patterns, learning that -dge and ge can make the /j/ sound, and that o and ou can make the /u/ sound.

In Inquiry, we have continued our learning about Australia by identifying the states and territories, their capital cities, and some of our country's important landmarks.

It has been a fantastic start to the term, and we look forward to another exciting week of learning!

REMINDERS

Morning Arrival Times

A big thank you to our families for supporting students to arrive at school on time. We have noticed a wonderful improvement in punctuality, which has helped create a calm and settled start to the day with fewer interruptions to learning. As a reminder, students should be in their classroom and ready to learn by 8:35 am each morning.
