100 Days of School Celebration
On Thursday 30th July, the Foundation students at Brooklyn Park celebrated reaching 100 days at school.
This was a timely event as our HASS focus this term is on the concept of celebrations and considering which food, clothing, decorations and special activities might be involved.
Having identified that decorations are a feature of a celebration, students made paper chains and bunting (depicting what they might look like as 100-year-olds) to decorate the classrooms in readiness for our celebration.
Students in Foundation Giles intentionally invited Foundation Sweet for this celebration as they “couldn’t possibly celebrate it by themselves”.
As such, both Foundation classes started the day together with a morning devotion.
We enjoyed singing worship songs, giving thanks to God for our school, friends, teachers and the 100 days of learning we have experienced so far.
We also got together again after lunch to play a game of ‘Keepy Uppy’.
With 100 being the number of the day, students:
- sorted 100 items into 10 groups of 10,
- played a “Race to 100” game,
- made and enjoyed eating their own fairy bread (with 100’s and 1000’s),
- and collaboratively built a collection of 100 words.
We praise God for His faithful provision over these 100 days of growth, and we pray that He continues to guide our Foundation students and their teachers as the year unfolds.

Book Week 2026 📚
Monday 24 - Friday 18 August (Week 6)
Book Week is approaching, and it is a chance to celebrate books, libraries, and the joy of reading.
The theme for Book Week this year is: Symphony of Stories!
Book Week Schedule
Monday 24 August - Whole School Parade @ 8:55am
Students and Staff are invited to dress up as a favourite book character on this day. Parents are invited to stay and watch. There will be a coffee van available for parents to purchase from.
Guidelines for dressing up are:
- Identifiable book character - we encourage students to bring the book or a copy of the cover with them on the day.
- Students are expected to wear their usual school uniform, if not in costume.
- Be creative with your costumes! We strongly encourage getting creative with items you already have at home.
Tuesday 25 August
Visiting author Mike Lucas will be sharing with the students how to turn ideas into stories.
We hope that Book Week will encourage reading at home as well as at school, so that we can all share in the joy of books and reading!
Happy Reading,

Friendology Workshops
Today, Director of URSTRONG, Tyson Greenwood taught the Foundation to Year 6 students how to be kinder and stronger friends together with our South Plympton friends.
Four important friendship facts.
- No friendship (relationship) is perfect
- Every friendship is different
- Trust and respect are the two most important qualities in a friendship.
- Friendships change, and that's ok
Thank you URSTRONG for teaching the student valuable tips to be kinder and stronger friends.
