Term 4 Week 4
Things have been humming along in the Music Room this term!!
Year 3's have been doing a fab job on the recorder learning how to play 'Eye of the Tiger' as well as beginning Recorder Karate. They will continue to learn different notes and songs to progress through the 'belts'. We have learnt to play the nets G, A and B, with the addition of C too. Accuracy is key during Recorder Karate and many students have passed
Year 4's have been exploring the K-Pop world! They have created their own group names, fandom names and member profiles. Next they will create logos, photo cards and light sticks. It's been wonderful seeing the students work collaboratively and creatively on this project!
Year 5's have been strumming along on the ukuleles....again.... they've shown so much resilience this term and I'm so proud of their efforts. We've been learning simple chords and exploring rolling our own songs as well as tuning their own instruments which takes A LOT of patience! The Year 5's will be pumped to know the picks have arrived!!! Bring on Monday!
Year 6's have been writing their own jingles for a product they've wither created or love. Presentations were rolled out this week with some catchy tunes heard!

Last week was a fabulous one for the amazing artists of Skye PS. After having to delay our art show last Wednesday, we were so lucky that the sunshine and calm weather arrived and we could host this wonderful event on Thursday. A highlight of the afternoon was the exhibition of our student's work and what a spectacular sight it was! If you were unable to make it, we still have a lot of this work displayed. We are going to enjoy looking at all this fabulous art work for a few weeks longer.
A big shout out to all of our dedicated, hard working teachers that contributed to these magnificent displays. They also worked at all the activity stalls to ensure our students and guests were kept busy with lots of engaging crafts, games and special purchases. Our amazing PTF members were a great support throughout the planning and set up of this event. They even braved working at the slime activity!!!
We were also very lucky to have small businesses from within our community attend and this was enjoyed by all. It's great to be part of such a supportive community and it was wonderful to see so many students and their families enjoying this event.
