Principal's Message
Term 4, Week 1
Hi Everyone,
Welcome back! It is the final term for 2025 and I can’t believe it! I hope you have had a truly wonderful holiday and have returned ready to go because we have a big term ahead!
Our Japan Study Tour group returned safely and by all accounts had an incredible time and were great ambassadors for our school! Thank you so much to all of the children involved and a huge THANK YOU to our chaperoning staff - Mrs Shelley Lee, Mr Thomas Corbett, Ms Jessica Faithfull, Mrs Marianne Huxley and Mrs Nicole Kent-Moore.

The last week of term 3 was a wonderful week of fun. It was lovely to see so many parents/caregivers and families visiting for Learning Celebrations. It is just so magical to watch excited children proudly involving their parents in their schooling. Thank you so much to our wonderful teachers for inspiring and teaching our children the love of learning!

The Junior Cross Country was a very warm day but a truly fun day! I love the way the kids just got into it and had fun and before they realised, they had finished! Thank you to Mrs Griffin and Mr Reardon for organising it all and to our staff for helping wherever they could. Thank you to our wonderful P&C who supplied Zooper Dooper ice blocks to our warm, little runners - they were very grateful!

The P&C Father’s Day (belated) Movie Night was just wonderful! I, along with so many, enjoyed being outside on a Spring night enjoying a movie and snacks! Thank you to our P&C for organising this great community event and thank you to all of the staff and family volunteers who helped make it happen!

Then of course, everything culminated with Book Week and what a wonderful week of celebrations it was! The Book Week Parade was so much fun and it was so great to see so many children and staff really getting into the spirit of it. Thank you to Mrs Annika Sauvage and the Book Week Committee, as well as our Library Monitors, for organising a wonderful week for us and inspiring us to go on and adventure through reading! Also, let’s not forget the incursion - the kids just loved it!

Coming up this week:
· International Breakfast - Friday 10th October!
· Whole School Assembly - Friday 10th October
There is only one last thing to discuss and that is the P&C INTERNATIONAL BREAKFAST that is happening this Friday morning!! I have never been to one before and I am very, very excited and pretty much drooling! Thank you to all of those wonderful volunteers involved. We are so proud of having almost 50 nationalities here at Ironside State School and the International Breakfast highlights the various cultural heritage of our families. Thank you to everyone involved, I can’t wait! What a way to start term 4!
Have a brilliant week.
Yours in Education,

Angie Kelly
Principal
PS We are also farewelling Mrs Shyami Paul at our assembly this Friday the 10th October. Mrs Paul has been a Crossing Supervisor for 27 years - what an extraordinary achievement!
