Years 3/4

The first week of term is always a great time to hear about what the students have been up to in the holidays. It also provides a great opportunity for writing, to create a recount of the holidays.

In maths we have been learning to represent and compare decimals. We had fun outside measuring each other, comparing our heights and putting them in ascending order.

In science, we are exploring how digital systems and data work together to perform everyday tasks. We will investigate the role of peripheral devices, learning how input and output devices improve system functionality, and design their own digital systems. We will also learn how data is collected, represented and used, examining real-world examples from technology and various occupations. 

Finally, it was great to start swimming this week. Although the water was a relief from the heat, there were some surprises of how unfit for swimming they were and some rusty strokes. We will however get their fitness and skills back in no time.
