NDIS Navigator

Hello everyone,

Welcome back from school holidays, I hope you are well and enjoying all the sunlight we are getting!

If you have any questions about, or would like some support with the NDIS for your child, please feel free to get in touch with me by calling the office to book an appointment, or speak directly with me on my work days; Wednesday and Thursday. You are also welcome to send me an email via  katherine.coller@education.vic.gov.au and I will get back to you when I am next in the office.

Here are a few updates in the NDIS space since our last newsletter:

NDIS Updates

  • 'NDIS Engage' online platform to share feedback and ideas about the NDIS. You can also learn about current NDIS projects and receive updates about topics you are interested in.  Visit the link below to register for an account:
  • New 'Supported Decision-Making Hub' is a central online location for resources covering topics like employment, housing, and making use of NDIS supports.
  • You may have heard about a new 'Thriving Kids' program. The NDIA have confirmed that currently there are no changes to the NDIS early intervention approach or eligibility criteria.
  • NDIS Supports transition period ending: following changes made to NDIS support lists in 2024, there has been a transition period to give people time to learn what the NDIS can and can't fund. From October this year, this transition period has ended, and any funding used for something that isn't an NDIS support may need to be paid back. You can read about this here: website

Webinars

Free online webinar for carers through VMCH (the form through the QR code is how to register, the questions don't seem particularly relevant, but I confirmed with VMCH that this is the correct way to register)
