Did you know that Croydon SDS is part of the Victorian Government Schools Breakfast Club program? This means that we have regular deliveries of food items to support students to access breakfast, snacks and sometimes lunches. Each school is able to organise this in a way that best meets the needs of their students. At Croydon SDS, some students experience difficulty being ready to eat in the busyness of their morning home routine and other students travel for quite a period of time on the bus in the morning and may be ready for some more food when they arrive at school.
The Breakfast Club program is designed to ensure that all students have access to healthy food to support them to be ready for the learning and activity in their school day.
At Croydon SDS, the Breakfast Club food is used in classrooms for breakfast, snack options and cooking programs. As part of their Work Related Skills program, our senior secondary students support with the management, packing and distribution of this food.

Families are also welcome to put in an order either online or a paper copy for some food products to be sent home to supplement your family groceries. We have also started a new food pantry which is in our Community Room in the cupboards over the bench. Parents/ carers are welcome to come in at any time to take items for home. Carry bags are available.
Foods available include breakfast cereals, bread, long life milk, diced fruit in juice, Vegemite, honey, tinned baked beans and tinned spaghetti, some fresh fruit and vegetables, plus other items as they are available.
If you would like more information about putting in an order for some food or getting some food for our pantry, you are welcome to ask at the front office or speak with Linda Garland, our Family Support Co-ordinator who works at Croydon SDS on Wednesdays and Fridays or Hannah Awi, our MEA.
