SUPER

STRENGTHS

At Lyndhurst Primary School, we are committed to supporting our students in developing positive character strengths that help them thrive both at school and in life. This fortnight, we are focusing on the Super Strength LOVE.

Love is one of the most powerful and meaningful strengths we can develop. Love is about caring deeply for others, showing kindness, and building strong, positive relationships. When children show love, they make others feel valued, safe, and connected.

At school, we encourage students to show love through their actions - by including others in games, offering a helping hand, showing gratitude, or simply smiling and using kind words. Small acts of love help create a warm and welcoming school community where everyone feels they belong.

How parents can nurture love at home:

  • Talk about feelings - Help your child name and understand emotions in themselves and others.
  • Show affection - Give hugs, smiles, and words of appreciation often.
  • Model kindness - Let your child see you being kind to friends, family, and even strangers.
  • Notice loving acts - Praise your child when they show care or empathy toward others.
  •  Encourage gratitude - Share what you’re thankful for as a family at dinner or bedtime.

When children feel loved and learn how to express love to others, they grow into compassionate, confident, and connected people. Let’s keep spreading love - in our classrooms, playgrounds, and homes!

World Kindness Day

Next Thursday, 13th November, we’ll be celebrating World Kindness Day at LPS! This special day is all about encouraging everyone - students, staff, and families - to spread a little extra kindness throughout our school and community.

Kindness doesn’t have to be big or grand. It can be as simple as sharing a smile, helping a classmate, saying something kind, or including someone who looks left out. Even small acts can make a huge difference and brighten someone’s day!

Here are a few simple ways students can show kindness next week:💛 Write a kind note to a friend or teacher💛 Help a family member at home💛 Include someone new in your game💛 Share a compliment or a smile

Let’s fill our school with kindness and show how powerful caring for others can be. Together, we can make LPS a place where kindness grows and everyone feels valued.

Remember: One small act of kindness can start a chain reaction that makes our world a little brighter. 🌟

Happy World Kindness Day! 💕
