Wonderful 1/2
0ne-two-rful 1/2s
Term 1 Week 6 2024 - Friday 8th March.
What have we been up to?
Another two weeks have passed by and every day in our classrooms is a busy and fun day. We have observed our students being proactive and caring about their classrooms and their school environment. Many house points have been given out for picking up papers off the floor and in the school outdoor area. Our classroom monitors are doing amazing jobs keeping our corridor clear and reminding their classmates to pick up their belongings. This helps to create a calm, tidy and happy environment for the students which facilitates positive learning.
Our classroom day starts with our teachers greeting their students and then the children will hang up their bags and put their drink bottles in their classrooms. The school bags tend to be a bit squashed up together but our 1/2 students have shown great determination and they help each other to hang up their bags. We then do the role, followed by reading our Acknowledgment of Country and our class mission statement. Our teachers and students then read our class WIG. We talk about what is our Wildly Important Goal and discuss if we are achieving this and perhaps how we can get better at achieving our goal. We then divide up into our Little Learners Love Literacy groups and return to our classrooms at 10am for our reading and writing literacy block. This is followed by lunch. After lunch we have double maths sessions three times a week and one session of our inquiry/science block. We have started to learn about animals and their habitats which the children are really enjoying. Our specialist sessions are on Tuesday and Wednesday. It really is a busy and full week for our grade ones and twos at Le Page.
Have a lovely long weekend and a reminder that it is a student free day here next Tuesday March 12th due to a Curriculum Day.
Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!
1/2A - We have been making sure we leave our classroom nice and tidy each day!
