Fantastic 3/4
Term 1 Week 6 2024
What have we been up to?
In literacy, students have been crafting impressive narratives. They've maintained their focus on using the acronym S.A.V.E.D to ensure their sentences are engaging. The students have produced narratives to be proud of. Our ongoing reading of Nim's Island has further enriched their descriptive language skills, contributing positively to their narrative writing.
We have continued our new spelling approach as a cohort called Morpheme Magic. These lessons make a powerful contribution to word reading and are built to create morphological awareness and provide engaging activities for students.
In Maths, students have finished their unit on place-value. Students will now spend a week on problem solving before moving onto time.
In inquiry, students have continued looking at the first fleet. During this unit students have been learning about Australia's first settlers, how they arrived here and the history of Australia.
In science, we have continued to look at chemical sciences. Students have been exploring man-made vs natural materials.
During our buddies session with the 1/2 students, the 3/4s had the opportunity to share their favourite novels with their buddies. It was fantastic to see their leadership skills whilst they were reading to their buddies.
