Prep students this term have focused on identifying different emotions in characters and themselves making a text to self-connection.  They used mirrors to see what they look like when displaying an emotion and have begun to explore the word ‘empathy’.

It has been a busy Term 1 from Grade 1 to Grade 6 as we use DeBono’s Thinking Hats when we are learning. The six thinking hats technique, developed by Edward de Bono, is a communication and reasoning tool. You use it to see from new perspectives by applying lateral thinking.

The JLA students have been introduced to each of the hats with a scenario to work through to consolidate their learning.

The MLA students have used the thinking hats to get a better understanding of Sovereign Hill and the land on which it occupies.

The SLA students have used the thinking hats to make a connection between Australia and immigration.
