DENTAL VAN VISITS
The dental van visit has been postponed until Term 2. The ADHV have had problems with their printing system so they have not been able to print their consent forms in time for our original booking.
The Dental Van will visit Brighton Primary School the week of Monday 27th to Friday 31st May. This is a free service to students for those who opt in to take advantage of the program. Further information will be provided when the forms arrive.
FIRST AID TRAINING STAFF
Our staff at Brighton Primary School have just completed their first aid training in compliance with the Department of Education guidelines. It is reassuring to know that staff are able to manage health issues from asthma, allergies, anaphylaxis and medical emergencies. If your child has any health issues, please speak with the school nurse to discuss support required at school.
FIRST AID IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS
Brighton Primary School students have been involved in the First Aid in Schools Program for many years and this will continue in 2024. The program is free and offered to students from Prep to Grade 6 teaching them in an age appropriate manner and integrates with the Victoria Curriculum F-10. It is interactive and fun teaching children skills to know what to do in an emergency, including calling 000 and in the upper year levels, performing CPR.
Details of when your child's year level will be involved will be sent to parents and guardians prior to the event. Please make sure you chat to your child to see what they have learnt in these sessions. You will be surprised at how competent your child becomes when they learn these skills and their ability to help someone when they need first aid.
RAPID ANTIGEN TESTS AVAILABLE IN THE HEALTH CENTRE
The school received another supply of rapid antigen tests so we can continue to test if we display symptoms of COVID. If you would like to receive a box, please come to the health centre to obtain one.
Warms regards,
