Student Representative Council (SRC)

A Student Representative Council (SRC) is a group of students elected by their peers to represent all students within the school. The SRC is the voice of the students. It works democratically and represents the student body in school decision-making but also provides the school with valuable feedback when planning for the future.

Throughout the year, members of the Student Representative Council, together with Middle and Senior School Leaders, organise different fundraisers supporting community organisations and activities for students to participate in and enjoy school life.

On Tuesday, 20 February, SRC members, Middle School Captains, Life & Culture Leaders, Social Justice Leaders, and Vice School Captains had the first meeting for 2024. Students had the opportunity to meet and discuss some great ideas for the future of our school. Also, they planned their first fundraiser, which will take place on Thursday, 7 March, celebrating “Smokey Thursday” (Tsiknopempti), which is a traditional day to BBQ in Greece and Cyprus before the Lenten Fast. All money raised will be donated to an organisation supporting women in need.

All student leaders are looking forward to working as a team during 2024 and striving for greatness at Oakleigh Grammar
