Year 11 Chemistry

Students in year 11 chemistry were exciting electrons in metal samples using the Bunsen burners. As the excited electrons fall down to their ground state, they release wavelengths of coloured light that we can observe.

Royal Women’s Hospital - Women in STEM conference

On Friday, seven of our year 10 students attended the ‘Meet the Scientists’ online conference hosted by the Royal Women’s Hospital. All the scientists that presented work specifically in women’s health. They shared with our students their real-life experiences as working scientists, their journey to their current roles and advice on how students can follow their passions and forge careers in STEM. The talks were inspiring and provided our students with an insight into the world of biomedical science.
